On Tuesday, October 22, the First Lady implemented the Me Time program with students and teachers at ‘Skol Avansá Amador Nita,’ a secondary education institution on the island of Curaçao. “I greatly appreciate the warm and welcoming reception from both the teaching staff and the students. The Minister of Education of Curaçao was also present. The students were impressed by Me Time and expressed their intention to practice it more often.”
The ‘Me Time’ project is a mental health program that uses mindfulness exercises to create calm in the mind. The goal of ‘Me Time’ is to promote and deliver mentally strong, resilient, and healthy young citizens to society. Another key focus of this program is to mentally inspire and support young people in a positive way.
“In Suriname, I have already launched this project in several primary schools, where it has been well received. The intention is to further implement it in more schools.”
