As part of the state visit to the People’s Republic of China, President Chandrikapersad Santokhi laid a wreath in honor of the People’s Heroes in the Chinese capital Beijing on April 12, 2024. This monument was erected as a national place of honor for the martyrs of the revolutionary struggles of the 19th and 20th centuries in China.

It was an honorable moment for Suriname, showing that the befriended nations honor national heroes.
