On Saturday 10 December 2019, the Stop Violence Against Women Foundation organized an educational walk to conclude the “16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence campaign” and in connection with Human Rights Day. Through this walk, attention was drawn to violence within the family. The First Lady had the honor of addressing those present and officially starting the course.
“Before the start I asked the boys and men present to be proud of their mother, sisters and grandmothers. Women and girls are strong and make an essential contribution to a country’s development and violence against women violates all human rights. I also pointed out to those present that everyone is equal and should also be treated equally.”
The First Lady pleased that the Stop Violence Against Women Foundation has taken this initiative and she hopes that other organizations will also pay more attention to violence in any form and to human rights.
