As Vice Chair of the Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN), the First Lady met Signe Zeikate, President of the Alianza de Primeras Damas (ALMA) and First Lady of Costa Rica, in Brussels, Belgium. The two first ladies talked about some of the things they do as first ladies in their respective countries. ALMA is mainly concerned with women and children and that is also one of the pillars of the SCLAN.

As groups that are committed to women and children, they have decided to look together in November at how they can give substance to Women’s Day and to create awareness in this regard. They also exchanged ideas about each other’s projects.

First Lady Signe Zeikate is impressed by the Prani Yu Dyari project. She wants to look into the possibilities of carrying out a similar project in Costa Rica.
