Before the start of the activities related to the celebration of 150 years of Hindu Immigration, First Lady Mellisa Santokhi-Seenacherry welcomed Indian President Droupadi Murmu to the Presidential Palace together with President Chandrikapersad Santokhi. After this, the two presidents had a consultation moment.

After this consultation, they went to the Marine Stairs. There they all got to see how the Lalarookh arrived in our country together with the immigrants. This moment was an imitation of what happened 150 years ago. After arrival, the contract workers from India brought various cultural expressions with them. An imitation of this has been made on Independence Square. Together with both presidents, the First Lady had a tour and they were able to see the culture that has been brought from India.
