In celebration of the Chinese New Year, which this year falls on January 29, a cultural show was held in the backyard of the Presidential Palace. This event was co-organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Suriname. The attendees included various government dignitaries, representatives of Chinese associations, and citizens. After the formal part of the event, guests enjoyed various performances and delicious food.
2025 is the Year of the Snake. According to Chinese astrology, the snake symbolizes wisdom, elegance, charm, and mystery. It is also seen as a symbol of transformation. “I wish you all, and especially our Chinese brothers and sisters, a healthy and prosperous New Year in advance.”
