On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the First Lady had the privilege of attending the decoration ceremony of the Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley. She received the Grand Cordon in the Honorary Order of the Palm from President Chandrikapersad Santokhi for her exceptional contribution to the relationship between Suriname and Barbados. She is also currently the Chair of CARICOM, “and I am confident she will fulfill this role to the best of her ability.”
