First Lady participates in third online meeting Zero Waste board
On Friday, December 13th, the First Lady participated online as a member in the third meeting of the UN Secretary General’s Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste. During this meeting, members were required to report on local zero waste initiatives that have been implemented. Additionally, the work plan for 2025-2026 had to be defined, recognizing processes that focus on zero waste initiatives. Other topics also had to be identified for further escalation to the UN Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres.
It was a fruitful meeting, where concrete results that have advanced zero waste initiatives in a local context were highlighted. The members also shared their experiences, solutions, and challenges and exchanged ideas.
“As a member of the Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste, it is my task to implement projects that promote zero waste. One of my projects is the reusable sanitary pads project. This is a great example of eliminating waste, as the pads are washed and reused. Let us focus on waste management and, in this way, do our part in preserving our planet.”
