During the visit to Aruba, President Chandrikapersad Santokhi and First Lady Mellisa Santokhi-Seenacherry toured the aloe fields of “Royal Aruba Aloe”. “We learned more about the aloe plant, its benefits, and the processes involved in cultivating and using the aloe plants from this plantation. We also visited the museum, where products made from the aloe grown on these fields are sold.”

Aloe vera was cultivated in Aruba by enslaved people on various plantations, particularly in the second half of the 19th century. This plant played a crucial role in the island’s early economic development at the beginning of the 20th century and has since become an integral part of Aruban history and culture. #Lobi
