On Tuesday, September 3rd, the departing ambassador José Raphael Lopes Mendes De Azeredo of the Federal Republic of Brazil was decorated by President Chandrikapersad Santokhi with the honor of Grand Officer in the Honorary Order of the Palm. This was in recognition of his outstanding contributions and dedication to improving the friendly ties and diplomatic cooperation between Suriname and Brazil.
