“Every Student a Computer” project delivered
Together with the Ambassador of India in Suriname, Dr. Shankar Balachandran, First Lady Mellisa Santokhi-Seenacherry delivered the project “Every Student a Computer”. This happened on Monday, November 27 at the LVE Kaykoesy School. In 2018, this project was initiated by the former First Lady and funded by the Republic of India.
The completion of the project includes the donation of ten computers to the above-mentioned school. “I hope that these computers will make a positive contribution to the ICT lessons that will be provided to students from now on. I would like to thank the Republic of India, through its ambassador, for this grant. As mother of the nation and on behalf of the students, I can tell you that your contribution not only benefits the school, but the entire Lelydorp complex, because most students come from this neighborhood.”
Ambassador Balachandran complimented the Republic of Suriname and the executor for the completion of this project. In his speech he offered Surinamese students scholarships to India.
“I would like to advise the students to handle this gesture with care. You asked for it, now it is in your possession, use the computers wisely and above all, be careful with them. I look forward to more of these projects, so we can have a positive impact on our youth, our future.” #Love
