On the occasion of 160 years of the Abolition of Slavery in Suriname, a Keti Koti Memorial Concert was held on the Independence Square. The group of guests of honor also included the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Wopke Hoekstra, and Vice Prime Minister of Aruba, Ursell Arends.
The repertoire consisted of classical Surinamese songs, which only reinforce the feeling of patriotism. Mi Kondre Troe, Jai Jai Sarnam, Segi Blessi Lobi and One Love were some of the songs performed.
