At the invitation of the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic, Minister Marcelo Salviolo and his wife Mrs. Cecilia Slamon, and on the occasion of the 213th anniversary of the May Revolution, President Chandrikapersad Santokhi and First Lady Mellisa Santokhi-Seenacherry attended a special reception. This took place on Thursday 25 May in the Ballroom of Hotel Torarica.

At the reception, the relationship between Suriname and Argentina was discussed and ideas were exchanged on how to strengthen this relationship. After several speeches, a toast was made for the prosperity of both republics. The First Lady congratulates the Republic of Argentina on this special day.
